Final Forza 2 car list rev-vealed, headline writer shot
A just punishment for such a terrible mangling of words, not to mention the trickery of "Final Forza 2" leading people to believe that Microsoft was releasing a bizarre automotive RPG, complete with mutant mechanics and bottles of restorative oil. No, the relevant game is Forza 2, simmy sequel to 2005's foray into car customization, reckless racing and all-round Gran Turismo-ing.
The official Forza Motorsport 2 website has unveiled the full list of cars to be included in the final game when it screeches into stores this May. Numbering 310 and representing enough reflective metal to burn holes through the back of your head, the list of cars is sure to please fans unsatisfied by the forthcoming demo's comparatively meager offering of 24 vehicles. It's noted that seven of the 310 cars have been deemed "special," with some only being available to pre-order deals and the game's collectors edition. The "controversial unicorn cars" will also be exclusively available for a limited time in the game's online auction house.
Racing enthusiasts are encouraged to look, use the Forza page and inspect the list closely as they attempt to answer the question, "Is there vroom for improvement?"
Update: Article author shot as well.

Listen, we can thread hijack this into a Greedo and Han discussion all day.
Stef Geiger @ Apr 20th 2007 9:12PM
That's... probably the funniest headline I've seen in recent memory.
Nick @ Apr 20th 2007 9:34PM
Why is it that news that goes up on ForzaMotorsport.net comes up on Joystiq literally at least a day later? Does nobody check that site frequent enough to post it?
accidental @ Apr 20th 2007 9:39PM
Joystiq's news isn't exactly meant to be IMMEDIATE, just recent, interesting and informative.
Anyway, I almost want to buy a 360 and Forza 2 just so I can drive the Ford 6T40mkII
T @ Apr 20th 2007 9:41PM
That whole list and no f-ing Bugatti, you better be able to dowload the fastest car in the world.
TrojanGuy @ Apr 20th 2007 9:45PM
No Prius? :)
americankgb @ Apr 20th 2007 10:08PM
Wow there are a lot of Rx-7's on the list. Makes me happy :P
3cubedminus3squared @ Apr 20th 2007 10:20PM
This game really needs the 1988 Ford RS200 and the Ford GT90 concept.
Arkon @ Apr 20th 2007 10:52PM
They have the Mclaren F1 GTR, I think now I might buy the game instead of rent it.
John @ Apr 20th 2007 11:07PM
I think 24 cars for a demo is plenty. I wanted this game, but then I saw a video of the fake damage modeling, where the guy kept running into the wall at ridiculous speeds and it barely fragged the car.
Sure, it's got damage modeling.
Too bad it's not realistic.
I was thinking of buying a 360 just for this game, but if I can't have real damage modeling (I.E. I run into a wall, for whatever reason, at 45 mph, my car should be totalled-- not have some transmission problems and superficial damage, like we get with forza 2):

@10
How many games actually do that though? In other words, what racer will you play instead?
Whirlo @ Apr 21st 2007 12:58AM
Sorry, but I can't race without my Testarossa. Been driving with that thing since I was a kid.

pshhh this car list sucks. I like how it totally lacks the american muscle that i crave, for instead a 1995 ford taurus sho. watch the youtube commercials for that ride and u will see how ridiculious the claims are "a sport interior only a select few will experience." anyways back on track, i want to see customization and modding brought to a higher level. i want to be able to install new spoolers on my ride and be able to adjust boost etc. developers can whine about how much time it would take, but id play it till i died.
a dirty bastard @ Apr 21st 2007 8:01AM
@13 thats why gran turismo will always be the best racing sim ever made
the only reason 4 was not perfect was because there was no online built in but thats why xlink kai is here for
Gordon Mackenzie @ Apr 21st 2007 8:07AM
What, no Morgans? I demand my 30 seconds of time spent reading that back!
Keija @ Apr 21st 2007 9:32AM
too few audis and BMW's :/
i want the new 3series coupe .. and the new s3! give em to me, i don't need a bazillion editions of the same car!
Pete @ Apr 21st 2007 12:02PM
was the author really shot?
Jarryd @ Apr 21st 2007 1:02PM
Where the f*** is the BMW M6?!?! Wasn't that the car they featured in their debut trailer?
wackychan @ Apr 21st 2007 4:05PM
As long as theres the RX7, WRX, Viper, Corvette, NSX, Mustang Cobra, S2000, EVO, GTO, Skyline, 911 Turbo, Supra, MR2, and Cerbera speed 12 then I'm happy. This game will last me till Halo 3 or GTA 4 drops.
gregory mitchell @ Apr 21st 2007 10:05PM
They had me at the Foose IS430 I was always pissed that they never produced this car... I never wouldve imagined that it would end up in a game.....GT4 is ASS the physics are waaay off!!! 50 mph On a bend in ahighy tuned 4wd should produce as much oversteer as that game does. No damage and No online made that game suck and all the loading and stupid question that waste load times. Oh and not to mention a horrible attempt at 1080i...Yea i know it only runs like that in the actually races and not menus.....but there are jaggies everywhere in this game. and it has no damage there is no excuse for this.
jimmi hendrix @ Apr 24th 2007 2:57PM
The list looks great and i prefer driving cars that exist (not concept) and are more rally type if you know what i mean. Plus as long as i have the new impreza S204 im happy actualy all the impreza are great cant wait to fully customise them and sell the at a ridiculaous price XD.
